Roadtrip 2021-2022 Winter: Seaside - Yachats - Brookings

Day 29 - The other Redwoods Trail on Peavine Ridge

Crossing the Winchuk River.

Peavine Road turns out to be slightly dubious - but nothing truck can't handle. Truck is smiling.

The Team steams into the trail entrance. The trail is excellent, the route markers are not - choosing the right forks proves to be difficult.

Lots of burnout and blowdown. But mostly folks have been keeping the trail clear for hiker access. They also claim this to be a universal access trail. It's not.

The fern lined path to the hollow tree.

Spot the photographer.

The view straight up inside a burned-out stump. The space is huge - a couple of meters wide at the bottom.

Meantime - while we've been enjoing mid teen temps in the sunny inland redwoods - the fog has reasserted itself - especially up the river valleys and into the harbours.
